State Rep. Mike Armanini announced on April 7 that the DuBois Public Library will receive more than $43,000 in grant funding to improve energy efficiency and accessibility at its facility.
The funding will be used to replace upper-level windows and renovate the main entrance with new windows and accessible doors. The goal is to make the library more accessible for people with mobility issues while also improving energy efficiency.
“This project recognizes the DuBois Public Library’s important role in Clearfield County,” Armanini said. “Today’s libraries are a hub for more than the circulation of books. They are a key resource for job seekers, genealogists, those seeking ebooks and online resources, people looking to build community through classes, and all ages of students, particularly homeschoolers.”
The grant comes from the Keystone Grants for Public Library Facilities program administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Office of Commonwealth Libraries. In this latest round of funding, more than $11 million was awarded to 27 libraries.
The improvements are expected to enhance both accessibility and sustainability at the library while supporting its broader role as a community resource.
