State Representative Mike Armanini has announced that Elk County and the municipalities of Clearfield County within Pennsylvania’s 75th Legislative District will receive over $1 million in impact fees from the natural gas industry. These funds are intended to support various community projects.
“Impact fees provide an economic stimulus to communities affected by natural gas drilling,” stated Armanini. “These funds assist our municipal governments with many critical projects, such as road and bridge repairs. I am happy to share that the 75th District is receiving such a substantial amount of funding through these fees.”
The distribution of impact fees was initiated in 2012 and is managed by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC). For further details and a complete list of disbursements across the state, individuals can visit the PUC’s website.
In Clearfield County, several municipalities have received nearly $100,000 in total. Among them, Sandy Township received $19,508, while DuBois City obtained $11,824. Other allocations include Ferguson Township with $13,000 and Huston Township with $15,690.
Elk County’s municipalities have been allocated more than $900,000 collectively. Jones Township received a significant portion amounting to $449,502. Saint Marys City was granted $160,656. Other notable disbursements include Fox Township at $62,681 and Horton Township at $40,795.
