Two municipalities in Pennsylvania’s 75th District have been awarded funding aimed at enhancing traffic safety and flow. State Representative Mike Armanini (R-Clearfield/Elk) announced that DuBois and Sandy Township are the beneficiaries of the “Green Light-Go” grants.

The funds are part of a program initiated in 2013 to boost the efficiency and operation of traffic signals across the state. Acknowledging the efforts of local administrations, Armanini stated, “I applaud leadership in the City of DuBois and Sandy Township for actively pursuing funding to address their individual needs.”

A grant exceeding $310,000 has been allocated to the City of DuBois for upgrading traffic signal equipment at Beaver Drive and Liberty Boulevard. Sandy Township is set to receive over $485,000 for traffic signal enhancements at Brady Street and Dixon Avenue.

Entities applying for the “Green Light-Go” program must provide a minimum 20% match. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Maintenance and Operations administers the program.

For further details on this grant or other state government matters, inquiries can be directed to Representative Armanini’s St Marys district office at 814-781-6301, or his DuBois office at 814-375-4688.
