State Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. and State Representative Mike Armanini have announced that over $1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants will be distributed to five recipients in Clearfield County.

“In four of these instances, the grant being awarded will be used to replace equipment that is no longer cost effective to repair,” said Armanini. “The other grant will help take the next step in exploring the creation of an exciting tourism and recreational opportunity in Clearfield County.”

The recipients include Bloom Township, which will receive $216,756 for a new dump truck with attachments; Brady Township, allocated $71,468 for a new truck; Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation, granted $615,664 for engineering and design costs related to whitewater parks construction in Clearfield and Curwensville boroughs; Penn Township, awarded $140,000 for a truck with a plow and spreader; and Troutville Borough, receiving $65,642 for a plow truck.

“I am pleased to partner with Rep. Armanini to secure this important funding,” stated Langerholc. “These grant awards from the Local Share Account help ensure that our region receives the funding it needs to complete public projects that improve our communities.”

The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved and awarded these grants. This independent agency oversees the funding of programs and investments aimed at Pennsylvania’s economic growth. The LSA grants are funded by gaming revenues.
