Residents in Clearfield and Centre Counties will have the opportunity to replace their damaged or faded license plates at no cost during two upcoming events, announced Sen. Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35).

License plates qualify for replacement if they exhibit peeling, blistering, discoloration, loss of reflectivity, or are unreadable from 50 feet away. Police officers will be present at the events to assess whether plates need replacement and assist with the necessary paperwork. This service is provided free of charge.

The scheduled events are as follows:
– Thursday, June 13, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at DuBois Police Department located at 16 W. Scribner Ave., DuBois (enter via W. Scribner Ave. from North Jared Street).
– Friday, June 14, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Philipsburg–Osceola Senior High School located at 502 Philips Street, Philipsburg.

After submission to PennDOT, a replacement license plate with a new number but the same design will be mailed to the vehicle owner’s home address. Vehicle owners can retain their original registration number only if their plate was initially personalized or by paying an additional fee.
