Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. (R-35) has announced the distribution of $500,000 in state grants aimed at supporting community projects. These funds are provided through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account Program, which utilizes revenue from casinos to fund initiatives that serve the public interest and foster community and economic development.
Langerholc stated, “This assistance will help area communities purchase equipment, renovate facilities and take other steps to improve safety and the quality of life in the 35th Senate District.” He further noted that many necessary but costly upgrades would benefit from these funds, easing the financial burden on local taxpayers.
The grants will impact areas within Cambria County and Centre County. The Commonwealth Financing Authority is an independent agency under Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development responsible for managing various programs focused on economic development and community enhancement.
