State Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. will hold three events in October for vehicle owners needing to replace damaged license plates. The initiative offers free replacements for plates that have lost reflectivity, are peeling, blistering, discolored, or unreadable from a distance of 50 feet.

Police officers will be present at the events to assess the condition of the plates and assist with necessary paperwork. After submitting an application to PennDOT, vehicle owners will receive a replacement plate by mail with a new number unless they pay an extra fee to retain their original registration number if it was personalized.

The scheduled events are as follows: On Wednesday, October 9, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center located at 445 Schoolhouse Road in Johnstown; on Tuesday, October 15, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Centre County District Office at 341 Science Park Rd in State College; and on Thursday, October 17, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at the DuBois Police Department at 16 W Scribner Ave in DuBois.
