State Rep. Dallas Kephart (R, Cambria, Clearfield) announced two multimodal grants recently awarded in the 73rd House Legislative District.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides financial assistance to municipalities, councils of governments, businesses, economic development organizations, public transportation agencies, and ports and rail freight entities. By improving transportation assets, this program seeks to enhance communities, pedestrian safety, and transit revitalization.

West Carroll Township in Cambria County received $348,275 to replace the Reed Street Bridge.

Beccaria Township in Clearfield County received $239,158 for improvements to Hoop Up Road and Poplar Street, including roadway widening, repairing base and drainage, milling, binding and wearing course, double seal coat, and shoulder work.

“Collaboration between state and local governments to improve transportation in the Commonwealth is critical,” shared Kephart. “I am happy to share that both Cambria and Clearfield counties will benefit from PennDOT’s multimodal grants to make our roads in the 73rd safer.”

On Monday, Sept. 23 at 8 a.m., PennDOT will begin accepting applications for the next round of funding for grants under the Multimodal Transportation Fund. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. PennDOT expects to announce grant recipients next year for funding that will be available in July 2025.
