State Representative Dallas Kephart announced a $1.75 million low-interest loan for the Woodward Township Sewage and Water Authority. This funding will be used to upgrade the existing chlorine disinfection system with a new ultraviolet system. Additionally, it will cover the replacement of drain station and pump station controls, as well as the main building roof.
“This loan marks a significant investment in our community,” said Kephart. “Optimizing our wastewater systems is critical to our infrastructure and I am glad to share this award with residents of the 73rd. This loan will save ratepayers money on this project.”
The funding comes from state and federal sources, approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) board. Applications for the next round of funding are open until October 30, before the January 22 board meeting.
PENNVEST has supported projects benefiting health, safety, economic development, and environmental improvements in Pennsylvania for over thirty years. It provides financial assistance for various water-related projects across local governments and authorities in Pennsylvania.
