State Representative Mike Armanini (R-Clearfield/Elk) has partnered with the Pennsylvania Treasury Department to assist residents of the 75th Legislative District in searching for unclaimed property. Through this collaboration, 85 individuals have filed claims for unclaimed property, with a total worth of over $203,000.
During the outreach efforts, Heidi Palmer-Villella, the Department Outreach Specialist for Consumer Programs, met with constituents in Armanini's DuBois and St. Marys district offices. The response from the community has been significant, with 47 claims filed in St. Marys and 38 claims filed in DuBois.
The largest claims filed amount to $22,000 in St. Marys and $6,000 in DuBois. These substantial amounts highlight the potential value that unclaimed property can hold for individuals who may be unaware of its existence.
Representative Armanini expressed his commitment to helping constituents recover their unclaimed property, stating, "I am pleased to have partnered with the Pennsylvania Treasury Department in this endeavor. It is important for individuals to be aware of any unclaimed property that may rightfully belong to them. By facilitating this process, we hope to provide financial relief and peace of mind to our community."
Unclaimed property refers to any financial assets that have been abandoned or forgotten by their rightful owners. These can include uncashed paychecks, dormant bank accounts, insurance proceeds, and uncollected utility deposits, among others. The Pennsylvania Treasury Department maintains a comprehensive database where individuals can search for and claim their unclaimed property.
Armanini's collaboration with the Pennsylvania Treasury Department highlights the importance of raising awareness about unclaimed property and assisting individuals in reclaiming what is rightfully theirs. By ensuring that more residents are informed of this opportunity, the partnership aims to connect individuals with their unclaimed assets and provide a financial boost to those who may be in need.
The success of this joint effort signifies the positive impact that can be achieved through government agencies and elected officials working together to serve their constituents. The Pennsylvania Treasury Department and Representative Armanini are committed to continuing their efforts in facilitating the recovery of unclaimed property and supporting the financial well-being of the community.
