Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr. has announced the allocation of $400,000 in state funds aimed at enhancing agricultural innovation in Cambria County. The grants are part of a state initiative to support farmers and agricultural businesses through new technologies and renewable energy solutions.
"Our region’s farming tradition is long and rich. It is crucial we help farmers innovate in order to compete," stated Langerholc. "This funding will help farmers in the 35th Senate District. I am happy to support these grants."
The Agricultural Innovation Grants are designed to assist farmers in implementing advanced agricultural technologies, conservation practices, and renewable energy innovations. These efforts aim to increase profitability, improve soil and water resources, and promote energy production on farms.
Pennsylvania's agriculture sector comprises over 53,000 farms, providing more than 600,000 jobs and contributing $132 billion annually to the state's economy.
