Customers of the Johnsonburg Municipal Authority in Pennsylvania will see improvements in their drinking water supply following a significant investment. A grant exceeding $5 million has been approved by the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST), according to State Representative Mike Armanini.

“I’m happy to see the authority’s application for financial assistance be approved,” said Armanini. “They deserve credit for making known a need that exists in their community, and I was more than happy to support them in presenting this to the PENNVEST board of directors for consideration.”

The grant aims to expand public water service and upgrade the distribution system in Johnsonburg. This includes the installation of a new waterline along State Route 219 and proposed projects in the area near Launer Drive, as well as replacements on Rose and Grove streets. These upgrades are expected to reduce leaks, eliminate flow restrictions, and address quality issues.

PENNVEST's funding helps local communities in Pennsylvania by supporting sewer, stormwater, and drinking water projects through low-interest loans and supplemental grants. Residents can direct inquiries to Representative Armanini's offices in St Marys and DuBois.
