State Senator Wayne Langerholc, Jr., representing the 35th District, along with State Representative Mike Armanini of the 75th Legislative District, have announced the disbursement of over $1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants to five recipients in Clearfield County.
“In four of these instances, the grant being awarded will be used to replace equipment that is no longer cost-effective to repair,” Armanini stated. “The other grant will help take the next step in exploring the creation of an exciting tourism and recreational opportunity in Clearfield County.”
The recipients for these grants include Bloom Township, which will receive $216,756 for acquiring a new dump truck with attachments, and Brady Township, awarded $71,468 for a new truck. The Clearfield County Economic Development Corporation will gain $615,664 dedicated to engineering and design costs for setting up whitewater parks in Clearfield and Curwensville boroughs. Meanwhile, Penn Township will obtain $140,000 for a truck outfitted with a plow and spreader, while Troutville Borough is set to receive $65,642 to purchase a plow truck.
“I am pleased to partner with Rep. Armanini to secure this important funding,” Langerholc mentioned. “These grant awards from the Local Share Account help ensure that our region receives the funding it needs to complete public projects that improve our communities.”
The Commonwealth Financing Authority approved and awarded these grants. The authority, an independent agency, manages funding programs and investments aiding Pennsylvania's economic growth. The LSA grants originate from gaming revenues.
