State Representative Dallas Kephart and Senator Wayne Langerholc Jr. have announced the allocation of nearly $2.5 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants for community projects in Cambria and Clearfield. The funds are distributed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) under Act 71 of 2004, supporting public interest projects throughout the Commonwealth.
Senator Langerholc stated, "I am proud to have advocated for this essential funding alongside Rep. Kephart. This joint collaboration will ensure our communities receive vital resources to invest in critical public projects with tremendous benefits."
Representative Kephart added, "Working with Sen. Langerholc, we were able to fight for crucial funding for the 73rd House District. Whether it is local road projects, critical water infrastructure, education support, or assisting our first responders, securing funding to help our communities is a top priority."
The grants are distributed to various municipalities, including:
- Barr Township will receive $491,057 for Keith Hollow Road construction and engineering.
- Beccaria Township is allocated $136,508 to purchase a new loader.
- Cambria County is set to improve the firefighter training facility with $153,000.
- Cambria Heights School District will get $39,500 for school zone flashing lights.
- Girard Township will purchase and upfit a dump truck with $118,473.
- Houtzdale Borough is awarded $266,538 for street paving.
- Lawrence Township will receive $546,890 for Clearfield Regional Police Department building renovations.
- Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership gets $100,000 for Moshannon Valley Enterprise Center renovations.
- Patton Borough will purchase a UTV for fire and rescue with $32,445.
- Westover Borough receives $49,065 for wastewater treatment facility renovations.
- Westover Municipal Authority is allotted $40,000 to replace the wastewater treatment facility roof.
- Woodward Township will resurface Grange Avenue and Alexander Lane with $248,450 and renovate the Houtzdale-Ramey EMS with $94,912.
