Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Dubois issued the following announcement.
Penn State DuBois Adjunct Lecturer of Engineering Stephen Feldbauer was recently invited to contribute to an article published by career building website Zippia, sharing his insight on current job market trends in engineering and manufacturing fields.

Though the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted nearly every industry, nation-wide, Feldbauer remained positive about the job market outlook in engineering fields, saying, “The need for materials engineers will continue to be healthy, and one may argue that it will grow. As the workforce ages and people leave, young engineers will be needed to backfill the workplace and work in new opportunities created by advancing technology and industry.”

Feldbauer is part of a team of expert faculty at Penn State DuBois who lead students through both two-year and four-year engineering programs offered at the campus. Graduates go on to work in fields such as manufacturing, powder metal, and more.
Feldbauer received his doctorate in 1995 in materials science and engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He joined Abbott Furnace Company in 2002 where he is currently the director of research and development. Feldbauer is also a senior adjunct faculty member in engineering at Penn State DuBois. He is the author of numerous articles, publications, and has been awarded eight patents. He is an active member of the Metal Powder Industries Foundation, American Welding Society’s C3 Committee, and Automotive Industry Action Group on Brazing.
