Blessing of Pets
St. Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscan Order and Patron Saint of animals, regularly preached to wild animals and always prayed for them. He believed that every living creature was his brother and sister. Since 1991, we have celebrated that love for all God’s creation by calling together our beloved pets for our annual Pet Blessing. In honor of his feast day on October 4, we will have our annual Blessing of Pets this year on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. We will gather in front of St. Catherine Church. We invite you to bring your dogs, cats, gerbils, hamsters, fish, turtles, frogs, ferrets, etc. Looking forward to seeing you there.
