Immaculate Conception Parish recently issued the following announcement.
DISPENSATION LIFTED — Obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days reinstated beginning Aug. 15
Although parishioners have been enjoying the opportunity to return to Mass in increasing numbers since pandemic restrictions have eased, the Catholic bishops of Pennsylvania — including Bishop Lawrence Persico — are making it official. As of Aug. 15, 2021, the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and holy days will be lifted. As always, the obligation does not apply to those with serious illness or health risks, as well as their caregivers.
