Students, staff, parents, and honored guests gathered this morning at Oklahoma Elementary school for the flagpole dedication ceremony.
Tammy Cook, the principal welcomed guests and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Shawn Arbaugh, US Army Veteran and Sandy Township manager spoke and shared what the flag meant to him and the symbolism of the colors. Red symbolizes hardiness and valor, white symbolizes purity and innocence, and blue represents vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
Mr. Rich Fisherowski led students in singing, America (My Country, 'Tis of Thee) followed by closing remarks from Joe Woods.
